| Section 1: Review (Approx 150 words) | |
| Throughout my time at college, I’ve managed to improve my use of practical skills, knowledge and professionalism whilst working on my own style within photography and other media. I have engrossed myself within many different genres like landscape, documentary, fashion and even street photography but the one that has stood out to me the most is music photography.
I am aiming to achieve a multimedia arrangement of work that challenges my abilities as a Filmmaker and Photographer. I have been working on my music and cinematography interests outside of college whilst being employed by various clients that share the same interests. I intend to explore and identify different techniques in photography and specifically film to highlight the prominent use of colour that will hopefully be involved, all the while incorporating depth and interest within my chosen topic. I believe this FMP leads perfectly into what I would like to do in the future as I am aspiring to do a music production course next year. |

| Section 2: Project Concept (approx 250 words) | |
| I want to produce a multimedia project incorporating cinematography and four printed images which explores the topic of Synesthesia, specifically Chromesthesia, what it is and what it is like to have it. Chromesthesia is the most common type of synesthesia, in which heard sounds automatically and involuntarily evoke an experience of colour.
The main source of inspiration behind this project is a musician called George Van Den Broek otherwise known as Yellow Days. He has Chromesthesia and it is rumoured that his almost psychedelic like brand is based around it. I went to see him perform and took some photos in the style of his brand and really enjoyed the post production process. The film will be in the style of a music video where I create a sense of contrast to show people who don’t have synesthesia a glimpse of it’s effects. Contrast will appear, even simply from the lack of music and dull visuals and with the addition of sound, colour becomes more intense, how I show this will be primarily subject to my research. I will be collaborating with a choreographer who will help me represent the linking of two senses through movement whilst learning a few different post production techniques to further portray the sensation of this type of synesthesia visually and audible. I will most likely use my canon 6D Mkii throughout the production as I will be shooting in 1080p and I am better acquainted to canon cameras in general. I will also use the Sennheiser ME67 for any live/atmospheric audio that I need. As I have previously mentioned, accompanying the film will be four printed images investigating the contrast I have subsequently highlighted in the video and I am aiming to further explore colour surrounding the mind of someone who has Chromesthesia through desaturated and bright/colourful images. Similarly to the video production I will be using my Canon 6Dmkii and various other equipment but there will be no need for a microphone. I will consistently be experimenting with studio and location shots when it comes to the video and photography to see what looks the best and provokes the best representation of what it is like to have Chromesthesia. |

| Section 3: Evaluation (approx 100 words) | |
| I’ll be sure that my work is complete once I feel proud of what I have created to the degree that I actively share it on my professional social media to market what I can offer to future collaborators and employers. Although I, myself, may feel sure that the project is complete nearer to deadline, I want to constantly get feedback from my tutors, peers, and friends to find out what would make the film and photos better.
To track this primary research to gauge people’s opinions and interests on what I’m creating I will write a blog weekly dedicated on reflecting on the path the project is taking. This blog will also include personal decision ands reflection on how I think the schedule is going. I believe this is a good way of getting the best grade is by constantly referring back to the research I have done to make sure whatever I produce links back to my topic of chromesthesia and showcases the best possible version of my topic. |
