Daniel Benson is a BMX’er turned fashion photographer who finished his degree from UWE Bristol who has worked for many companies/brands like adidas, and our tutor Steve when he was editor of ride magazine. He moved from Bristol down to Hackney in London where he became a part time assistant whilst working for ride magazine. Steve says that being an assistant for the time he was must have really help him as a photographer and you can certainly see that he has created his own distinct style.
I really like his image especially his studio based images as I think the simplicity of the sets and almost matte background works really well with the models he is shooting and what they are wearing. When it comes to studio photography I think I base my work around styles like his when it comes to fashion as it really highlights the clothes/model well.
